For most of the last decade I built things quietly. A project would live on my laptop for months, get a burst of weekend energy, and then quietly fade when the next idea showed up. Nobody saw the work, so nobody missed it when it stopped.
Building in public is the opposite bet. Instead of waiting for a polished launch, I’m posting the messy middle: the half-working prototype, the architecture I regretted, the feature I cut. The work becomes a conversation instead of a reveal.
The accountability is the point
The honest reason is accountability. When the log is public, an abandoned project is visible. That small social pressure has done more for my follow-through than any productivity system I’ve tried.
What this site is
This is the log. The Writing section is where I think out loud, and the Projects list is the running inventory of what I’m making. Some of it will work. Some of it won’t. All of it will be here.
